Who should be named as respondents in a writ petition?

Writ & Administrative Law

The petition should name the authority, office, tribunal or official whose act, decision or failure is being challenged and any person whose legal interests would be directly affected by the requested order.

Leaving out a necessary party can create procedural problems.
