Can a completed property transfer be challenged?

Property & Land Law

Yes, a registered transfer can still be challenged where there is a legally recognized basis, such as fraud, forgery, lack of authority, incapacity, an invalid underlying transaction or violation of protected ownership rights.

Registration is highly important evidence, but it does not make fraud lawful.

Time matters

Limitation periods and the date of knowledge can materially affect remedies. A challenge should therefore be assessed promptly.
