What powers does the Labour Office have?

Labour & Employment Law

The Labour Act gives the Department and Labour Offices inspection, enforcement and dispute-resolution powers. Depending on the violation, an office can order payment, address unlawful deductions, direct compliance, impose statutory penalties within its authority and make orders concerning employment-law violations.

Appeals from qualifying Office/Department decisions generally go to the Labour Court.
