Can an employer deduct money from salary whenever it wants?

Labour & Employment Law

No. Section 38 restricts deductions from remuneration to legally recognized categories, such as taxes, social-security contributions, authorized service/facility charges, absence, certain proven employer losses and other statutory deductions.

An employment policy cannot create unlimited deduction powers contrary to the Act.
