What legally counts as domestic violence in Nepal?

Family Law

Domestic violence is governed by the Domestic Violence (Offence and Punishment) Act, 2066. Family disputes involving physical, mental, sexual or economic abuse can raise issues beyond ordinary divorce or property law.

A person facing immediate danger should prioritize safety and appropriate emergency or police assistance rather than waiting for a divorce/property case to resolve the risk.
