The Civil Code contains rules on which parent a minor lives with after separation or divorce, while the Act Relating to Children requires the child's best interests to receive priority in decisions concerning care after parental divorce.
Relevant issues include the child's age, parental agreement, the child's views where legally relevant, safety, care, education, health and overall welfare.
