For offences covered by Schedule 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, a person who knows that an offence has occurred, is occurring or is about to occur can provide information to the nearest police office. Nepal Police states that information can be written, oral or electronic and should describe the known evidence and facts.
The alleged offender's full identity need not always be known for the information to be received.
