Government company-registration fees in Nepal depend primarily on the type of company and its authorized capital. OCR publishes a standard fee schedule. For a private limited company, the published standard schedule starts at NPR 1,000 for authorized capital up to NPR 100,000 and rises through higher capital bands.
Standard private-company fee examples published by OCR
- Up to NPR 100,000 authorized capital: NPR 1,000
- NPR 100,001–500,000: NPR 4,500
- NPR 500,001–2,500,000: NPR 9,500
- NPR 2,500,001–10,000,000: NPR 16,000
Higher capital bands attract higher fees under OCR's schedule.
Important current-year caution
Registration fees, waivers, concessions and Finance Act measures can change by fiscal year. OCR's fee page also contains historical waiver information, and OCR published a notice in 2083 concerning remission of certain taxes, fees, charges and penalties under the Companies Act.
For that reason, a public article should not state a single fixed "current registration fee" without checking the amount payable in CAMIS or the latest OCR notice for the fiscal year.
Other possible costs
Government company-registration fees are not the same as total business-startup costs. A business may separately incur costs for:
- legal drafting or professional assistance;
- notarization or certification;
- industry registration;
- sectoral licences;
- local registration;
- foreign-investment approval;
- tax, accounting and compliance setup.
