Can parties amend a contract after signing it?

Contracts & Business Law

Yes. Section 533 allows parties by mutual consent to amend, vary, extend, suspend or replace contractual obligations. The Code treats the agreed modification as the operative contractual arrangement.[1]

Good practice

Material changes should be documented clearly, identify the original contract and state which provisions are changed and which remain in force.
