Contractual rights and, in appropriate circumstances, performance can be transferred, but the Civil Code places conditions on assignment. Unless otherwise provided, assignment should be in writing, unconditional, legally permitted and notified as required. Contractual obligations generally cannot be transferred to another person without the other party's consent.[1]
Personal obligations involving a person's unique skill or capacity require particular care.
